Hardware and Operating System

EMS Can only be installed on Windows operating systems.

Ellab recommend installing on Windows Server 2022 and if that is not an option, then on Windows 10 or 11 Professional.

Host machine should not have less than 2 CPUs and not less than 8 GB memory. Depending on the size of the database your system may require more CPUs and more memory to be able to work as expected.

Software requirements

The host machine MUST NOT be configured as a Web Server (e.g. IIS).

If the Web Server Role is enabled on the host machine, remove the Role before installation. (If existing web server is not removed before installion, the installation may not fail, but EMS will must likely not work)

.NET framework version 4.7.2 or higher MUST be enabled

If this feature is not installed the installation will fail -- you can use "Turn Windows features on or off" to verify and enable.

Recommendations from Tech Support

Always install the following software on the EMS Server as it makes the administration and support of EMS easier.

Chrome or Firefox (Microsoft Edge takes to long loading EMS)

SSMS

Notepad++ (The deafult text editing software available locks text files when editing and that can easily be problem)
